Under Law No. 3095, interest is simple interest; no interest is charged on interest already accrued. Since the rate changes from period to period, the date range is split into periods and each period is calculated at its own rate. In commercial matters, default interest may be claimed at the advance interest rate if that rate is higher.

Under 3095 s.K. m.3, no interest may be charged on accrued interest.
If an interest rate has been agreed in a contract, that rate applies first.
