How does it work?

  1. Your question is turned into meaning. A multilingual AI language model converts your sentence into a vector that represents its meaning. The model runs on our own servers; your question is not sent to any data provider, is private to your session and is converted anonymously.
  2. It is compared against over 28 million decision sections. Decisions were split into meaningful sections and vectorized in advance; the sections closest in meaning to your question are found in under a second.
  3. It is combined with full-text search and ranked. Semantic similarity and word matching are evaluated together (hybrid search); decisions that are both close in subject and match the terms rise to the top.

Frequently asked questions

What is semantic search?

It searches for meaning, not words. You write your question in your own words; even if your exact words don't appear in the decision, you get the decisions whose subject and facts are closest to your question. You don't have to know the legal term.

Is it free? Do I need a membership?

It's completely free for a limited time: no membership, no quota. To prevent abuse, there is only a per-minute rate limit; you won't notice it in normal use.

Which decisions does it search?

Over 11 million publicly available decisions of the Court of Cassation, the Council of State, the Constitutional Court, regional courts of appeal and first-instance courts. Decisions are split into meaningful sections, and the search runs across over 28 million text segments.

How can I trust the results?

Every result is a real decision: its citation details (court, chamber, docket and decision number, date) and the part of the decision that matches your question in meaning are shown. You click through to read the decision's full text; no text is fabricated or altered by summarizing.

How is it different from keyword search?

Keyword search finds decisions that contain the words you type; if you're looking for a docket/decision number, a statutory article or a specific term, it's the most accurate tool. Semantic search, on the other hand, brings up relevant decisions when you describe the case, even if you don't know the terms used. The two can be used together.

Does AI generate an answer?

No. Semantic search doesn't write answers; it finds decisions. An AI answer that cites sources based on the decisions found is a separate feature, available only to members.

Are my questions stored?

Your question is not sent to any data provider; it is specific to your session and is converted anonymously.
