Periodic debt interest calculator

For receivables with a separate due date each month, such as rent, alimony, building dues or installments, interest runs separately for each debt from its own due date. Enter the due dates and amounts; interest for each row is calculated separately using rates that change from period to period, then added up.

Calculation rule

  • Interest is simple interest (3095 s.K. m.3: no interest is charged on interest); it runs separately for each debt: principal × rate × days ÷ 365.
  • If the rate has changed, each debt's interval is split into rate periods. You can see current rates on the statutory interest calculator page.
  • Interest is counted from the due date to the calculation date. If a formal notice is required to put the debtor in default (when there is no fixed due date), enter the default date as the start date.
  • For rent receivables, the start of interest is determined by the payment day in the contract; for alimony, each monthly payment becomes due on its own payment day.

This calculation is for information only; consult your lawyer about contractual interest and special situations in enforcement proceedings.

Frequently asked questions

How is interest on unpaid rent calculated?
Each month's rent becomes due on the payment day set in the contract, and interest runs separately from that day. This tool calculates the interest on each rent payment separately from its own due date to the calculation date and adds them up.
Which interest rate applies?
If no interest was agreed in the contract, statutory interest can be claimed, or advance interest in commercial transactions. If the rate has changed, each debt's interval is split into rate periods and each period is calculated at its own rate. Current annual rates: statutory interest 31%, advance interest 39,75%.
Can interest be claimed on accrued alimony?
Each unpaid monthly alimony payment becomes due on its own payment day, and interest can be claimed from that date. Enter each month's due date as a separate row or use the equal monthly installment generator.
Is interest charged on interest?
No. The calculation uses simple interest: accrued interest is not added to the principal to earn further interest.
